Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Codex of Infinity, licensing, and how to use the mythology.

About the Codex
What is the Codex of Infinity?
The Codex of Infinity (Codexul Infinitului) is the world's largest structured fantasy mythology. It contains 155,000+ entities across 15 existential planes, with 1,500+ named creatures, 13 primordial gods, 343 second-generation deities, 14 chakras, 500+ magic combinations, and 100+ runes. Everything is interconnected — each entity has 32 data fields linking it to planes, magics, chakras, and other entities.
Who created this?
The Codex was created by Ciciu Alexandru-Costinel over approximately two years. The mythology is built on a philosophical framework called "The Seed" (Samanta), where mathematics, mythology, and consciousness converge. The mathematical engine behind it (Zero Point Logic) is a separate product. Read more about the creator.
Is this based on existing mythology?
No. While it draws inspiration from universal mythological patterns (creation myths, cosmic hierarchies, dualistic forces), the Codex of Infinity is entirely original. The gods, creatures, magic systems, planes, and rules are all new. This is not a retelling of Norse, Greek, or any other existing mythology — it is a new mythology built from first principles.
How many entities are there really?
The full database contains 20,298 entities with 32 structured fields each. The extended bestiary adds approximately 135,000 more from procedurally-generated archives. On this website, 1,516 entities have been curated with poetic names and detailed lore. The rest are available in bulk data packages for developers who want raw data for procedural generation.
What are the 15 existential planes?
7 classical planes (Material, Dream, Chaos, Light, Astral, Shadow, Inverse) plus 8 energetic planes (Thought, Curse, Memory, Longing, Aspiration, Dream Energetic, Fear, Sacrifice). Each plane has its own physics, magic behavior, and inhabitants. Explore the planes.
Licensing & Usage
Can I use Codex entities for free?
Yes. Non-commercial use is free (Pay What You Want, minimum $0). You can use entities in personal projects, game jams, student work, and educational materials — just include credit. See full licensing terms.
How much does commercial licensing cost?
It depends on rarity and license type. A Common entity costs $1 for non-exclusive commercial use. A Primordial God costs $50. Exclusive licenses (entity removed from marketplace) range from $10/year to $5,000 permanent. Bulk discounts up to 35% for 500+ entities. Use the pricing calculator.
What does "exclusive" mean?
When you buy an exclusive license, the entity is removed from the marketplace. No one else can license it for the duration of your exclusivity (1 year, 3 years, or permanent). It's yours alone. After the period ends (if not permanent), the entity returns to the marketplace.
What formats are the entities available in?
JSON (primary), PDF (illustrated), SQLite (database), SQL dump, and CSV. Each entity has 32 fields: name, category, rarity, plane, magic, chakra, aura, planet, powers, weakness, description, lore, and more. See the data schema.
Can I modify the entities for my game?
Yes, within license terms. Non-exclusive commercial licenses allow modification. Exclusive licenses allow full modification. You can change names, stats, descriptions — but the core IP (the entity concept and its connections) remains part of the Codex. You cannot claim the original entity as your own creation.
For Developers & Creators
What can I build with this?
Games (2D, 2.5D, 3D, mobile, console, PC), tabletop RPGs, card games, novels, comics, films, TV shows, apps, educational tools, art books, VR/AR experiences — anything that needs deep, structured mythology. The data is format-agnostic.
Is there an API?
Not yet for the Codex specifically. The data is currently delivered as files (JSON, SQLite, PDF). An API is planned. The related product Zero Point Logic (ZPL) has a live API for mathematical balancing — see developer docs for integration details.
What is Zero Point Logic (ZPL)?
ZPL is the mathematical engine behind the Codex — a separate product that handles adaptive stability, economy balancing, and dynamic difficulty in games. The Codex is the lore/IP; ZPL is the tech/math. They work together but are licensed separately.
Do you have images for the entities?
Not yet for all entities. The website uses placeholder visuals. Images are being created gradually. When available, they'll appear automatically on entity pages. If you need images for your project, we can discuss custom illustration as part of a licensing deal.
Technical
What are the 32 data fields per entity?
ID, name, category, rarity, plane, primary magic, secondary magic, chakra, aura color, planet, time position, strength, weakness, description, lore, height, weight, intelligence, alignment, habitat, diet, lifespan, threat level, can be tamed, languages, allies, enemies, domain, abilities, tags, and more. See the full schema.
How is the Time Map structured?
The Time Map is horizontal — like Tesla's lightning bolt held sideways. Center (0) = Eternal, the fixed point. Left (-1) = Inverse Time, where effects precede causes. Right (+1) = Normal Time, where cause precedes effect. Each entity has a time position and a plane, placing it on this 2D map. Explore the Time Map.
