Worlds & Planes
Seven existential planes. Each with its own physics, inhabitants, and rules. Together, they form the architecture of infinity.
I
The Material Plane
Where flesh meets physics
The plane most beings call home. Governed by consistent physical laws — gravity pulls, time flows forward, death is permanent. Magic exists here but follows stricter rules than in other planes. The Material Plane is where the gods' experiments play out, where creatures hunt and build and die, where stories happen. It is not the most important plane. It is the most fragile.
Physics
Standard — gravity, thermodynamics, causality
Magic Level
Low-medium — requires effort and skill
Governed By
Prima Terra (primary), all Primordials (passive)
Key Locations
Gaia, The Unnamed Continents, The Deep Oceans
II
The Dream Plane
Where thought becomes geography
Larger than the Material Plane — because everyone dreams, and every dream is a temporary universe. The Dream Plane is where subconscious thoughts build castles that dissolve at dawn, where fears take physical form and chase you through corridors that didn't exist a second ago. Prima Somnium governs it, but she does not control it. Nobody controls what seven billion minds imagine when they close their eyes.
Physics
Subjective — changes based on the dreamer
Magic Level
Maximum — thought IS magic here
Governed By
Prima Somnium, Lyvran
Key Locations
The Shared Dream, Nightmare Corridors, Memory Libraries
III
The Chaos Plane
Where rules go to die
Nothing here stays the same for more than a moment. Physics inverts, reverses, contradicts itself. Gravity pulls sideways. Time runs in loops. Fire freezes. Sound becomes visible. It is not dangerous because things attack you — it is dangerous because the concept of "you" becomes unstable. Extended exposure causes identity dissolution. Primus Chaos lives here comfortably. He is the only one who can.
Physics
None — actively hostile to consistency
Magic Level
Infinite but unreliable — every spell mutates
Governed By
Primus Chaos, Ayzeth
Key Locations
The Fracture, The Impossible Library, The Storm That Thinks
IV
The Plane of Light
Where truth has no shadow
Everything here is illuminated from every angle simultaneously. There are no shadows, no hidden spaces, no secrets. Every thought is visible. Every lie burns. Every truth, no matter how painful, is spoken aloud by the air itself. Most beings find it unbearable within minutes. Not because it hurts — because they cannot hide from themselves.
Physics
Omnidirectional illumination, no darkness possible
Magic Level
High — light magic amplified, darkness magic nullified
Governed By
Primus Lumen, Elyra
Key Locations
The Plane of Mirrors, The Truth Court, The Radiant Archive
V
The Astral Plane
Where distance is optional
The connective tissue between all other planes. The Astral is not a place — it is a method of travel. Here, thought moves faster than light, and intent replaces physics. You don't walk through the Astral; you WANT yourself somewhere, and the Astral rearranges reality until you arrive. Primus Aether built it as a highway system. Most travelers only see the roads. Few notice what lives in the median.
Physics
Intent-based — movement by thought, not force
Magic Level
High — ether and time magic amplified
Governed By
Primus Aether, Naelith
Key Locations
The Between, Silver Highways, The Observatory
VI
The Shadow Plane
Where things go to not be found
A dark mirror of the Material Plane. Every structure that exists in the physical world casts a shadow-version here — but warped, empty, wrong. The Shadow Plane is where secrets are stored, where dead shadows go after their owners die, where things hide when they don't want to be found by gods. Prima Umbra rules here, but even she has rooms she doesn't enter.
Physics
Inverted Material Plane — familiar but wrong
Magic Level
High — darkness and silence magic amplified
Governed By
Prima Umbra, Noxir
Key Locations
The Night Archive, Shadow Gaia, The Rooms Nobody Enters
VII
The Inverse Plane
Where endings are beginnings
The final plane. Everything here runs backward — rivers flow uphill, creatures grow younger, ruins assemble themselves, the dead walk toward life. The Inverse is where Primus Mortem takes souls to prepare them for rebirth. It is not death — it is the rewind button of existence. The most peaceful and the most terrifying plane, depending on which direction you're facing.
Physics
Reversed causality — effects precede causes
Magic Level
Extreme — time and resurrection magic at full power
Governed By
Primus Mortem, Prima Sacrificium
Key Locations
The Threshold, The Scales, The Unborn City
The Subtle Dimensions
The 8 Energetic Planes
Beyond the 7 classical planes, 8 energetic planes exist as subtle dimensions — not places you can walk to, but states of being you fall into. Each is mapped to a subtle energy that flows through all living things.
Thought Plane
Gând — Where ideas have mass
Every thought ever conceived exists here as a physical object. Ideas orbit each other like planets. Contradictions collide and create new concepts. Intelligence here is not measured in speed but in gravitational pull — the more complex a thought, the more it attracts.
Memory Plane
Amintire — Where nothing is forgotten
Everything that has ever been remembered by any being in any plane is stored here. Memories grow like coral — layer upon layer, building structures that no architect designed. Walking through the Memory Plane is walking through time, sideways.
Curse Plane
Blestem — Where words wound
Every curse ever spoken takes physical form here. Broken promises become architecture. Betrayals become weather. The Curse Plane is not evil — it is the consequence plane, where every wrong word and broken oath is stored and slowly, inevitably, returns to its source.
Longing Plane
Dor — Untranslatable
Dor is a Romanian concept with no English equivalent: yearning + nostalgia + love-pain + the ache for something that may never have existed. This plane IS that feeling, made into a world. Beautiful, heartbreaking, and infinite. Beings who enter often choose not to leave.
Aspiration Plane
Năzuință — Where potential lives
Every unfulfilled dream, every abandoned goal, every path not taken exists here in a state of permanent possibility. The Aspiration Plane is not sad — it is hopeful, because here, nothing is truly lost. It is merely waiting for someone brave enough to reach for it again.
Fear Plane
Frică — Where terror has a purpose
Not a horror realm. Fear here is functional — a survival mechanism elevated to cosmic law. Every living being's deepest fear exists here as a teacher, a guardian, a mirror. The creatures of the Fear Plane do not attack. They show you what you refuse to see about yourself.
Dream Energy Plane
Vis Energetic — The raw stuff of dreams
Unlike the Dream Plane (where individual dreams play out), the Dream Energy Plane is the RAW energy from which dreams are made. Pure potential, undifferentiated, crackling with possibility. Elementals born here are made of pure imagination — formless until a dreamer gives them shape.
Sacrifice Plane
Sacrificiu — Where every debt is remembered
The ledger of the universe. Every sacrifice — willing or forced, large or small — is recorded here. The Sacrifice Plane enforces the cosmic law of equivalent exchange: nothing is free, every gain requires a loss. Prima Sacrificium's domain, and the most mathematically precise place in existence.
The Architecture of Infinity
The 15 planes are not stacked — they overlap, interpenetrate, and occasionally collide. The 7 classical planes provide structure. The 8 energetic planes provide feeling. Every entity exists at the intersection of a classical plane and an energetic plane, creating the unique clusters visible on the Time Map.
Thin points exist where planes bleed into each other: a forest clearing where dreams become visible, a mountain peak where the Astral touches the Material, a cave where shadow and light coexist. These thin points are where the most powerful creatures live — and where the most dangerous anomalies occur.
